Boosting Personal Productivity
Use Checklist and Task Lists Abundantly
Many of us have lost the typical rhythm of office and private time. Those eight hours working from home may seem an endless stretch to some of us. Do use a structure and sit down at the end of the day to write out the most important tasks for the following day. In the morning, after a first email review, complement that list and prioritize with a A-B-C activities.
Get those A tasks Done. Steady Does It
In the morning, get to work right away with those A tasks. These may be important phone calls to clients, or creative work, or completing that mega-complicated spreadsheet. Try to get all of them done by lunchtime. Take a break, get some fresh air, some sunshine and relax with a coffee. .Continue in the afternoon with B or C tasks, or with organizational tasks, or do those callbacks. So that right before quitting time, you can happily review your success for the day. Was your plan adequate, and did your prioritization work? Adjust for the next day. And if there are mega tasks, spread them out and start working with a weekly schedule.
